Ladies Who Lead

A Salsa & Latin Partnering Workshop

Ready to take the lead? Ladies Who Lead is a 2-hour workshop for dancers who identify as women or want to explore the leader's role in salsa and Latin partner dancing.

We'll break down the fundamentals of leading in salsa and other Latin styles, including basic steps, turns, patterns, weight transfers, connection, frame, and body mechanics. You'll learn how to initiate movement with clarity and confidence while developing the awareness needed to communicate with a partner without relying on words.

This beginner to lower-intermediate workshop is a chance to step outside the traditional follower role, build your dance vocabulary from a new perspective, and discover just how much fun it can be to take the lead!

No previous leading experience is necessary. Some basic salsa or Latin dance experience is helpful, but not required.

We'll explore:

• Salsa and Latin basic steps
• Beginner-to-lower-intermediate turns and patterns
• Lead technique and body mechanics
• Frame, connection, and weight transfers
• Partnering exercises
• Musicality and timing
• Building confidence as a leader
• Applying lead skills to other Latin dance styles
